Drop him: Mourinho must axe these 2 players from today’s starting Man Utd XI

Jose Mourinho delivered the first trophy of his Man United career last weekend, as a Zlatan inspired United edged past Southampton in the League Cup final.

The news was greeted with big celebrations by the United fans here in the Tavern, many of who had crowded round our big screen to watch the game unfold.

However, this weekend sees a return to what should be the bread and butter of the league, where the Red Devils will be hoping to continue their unbeaten run and edge ever close sealing a top four spot.

Despite the cup win last time out and their good form, there are cases to be made for a few of Mourinho’s side to be dropped today, and our landlord concurs.

With this in mind, here are TWO Man United players who should be dropped against Bournemouth today…

Ander Herrera

The Spaniard was not all that impressive at Wembley, and with a host of talent in the Man United squad, he could well be dropped this weekend.

Herrera has become a bit of a favourite for Mourinho this season, but the game against Bournemouth could represent a chance for someone to step into his shoes this weekend.

Juan Mata

Another Spaniard who was very much out of the game last week was Juan Mata.

The attacking midfielder was replaced by Michael Carrick at half time in a tactical move by Mourinho, and he could well find his place under threat again this weekend.

With all the attacking talent at Old Trafford, Mata could well make way to give someone else a chance this weekend.
