Drop them: Allardyce must axe these 2 players from today’s starting Palace XI against Liverpool

The Crystal Palace supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern finally have a smile on their faces after a pretty turbulent season, which had put their Barclays Premier League status under threat at one stage.

It took Sam Allardyce a fair bit of time to get his feet firmly under the table at the London-based club but wins over Chelsea and Arsenal in recent weeks have gone a long way to ensuring their survival for another season.

The Eagles supporters have been chatting in the Tavern about what the club needs to do in the summer in order to progress as a football club, with many of the group hopeful that some improvements are made to the playing staff.

Ahead of today’s contest with Liverpool, our landlord has been having a look at certain areas of the club’s squad and after pouring himself a well deserved pint, he looked at two players who could be dropped today.

Jeffrey Schlupp

The January arrival from Leicester City was hooked with 21 minutes to go in last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Leicester City and that could dictate his omission from today’s starting line-up.

A couple of Palace supporters are chatting here in the Tavern and they feel that Schlupp was signed as one for the future, stating that he still has a lot to learn and that a spell on the bench might not do him any harm at all.

Martin Kelly

The central defender would undoubtedly relish the opportunity to play against his former club but he has been prone to an error or two in recent weeks and boss Allardyce could look elsewhere this weekend.

One Palace fan is over by the dart board and games machine and he thinks that Kelly must be replaced in the summer, although he does concede that the club might need to continue to pick him right now due to a lack of other options.

Crystal Palace fans, would you drop these two today? Will you beat Liverpool? Let us know in the comments below!!!
