The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to this weekend’s eagerly anticipated local derby with Everton and the Reds will be looking to complete a league double over their city rivals when they lock horns at Anfield on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s side ran out 1-0 winners when the sides met in December with Sadio Mane’s last minute winner enough to ensure bragging rights here in the Tavern for those of a red persuasion.

The Toffees have improved vastly since the turn of the year however and a win at Anfield this weekend would see them close the gap on their fierce rivals, with Ronald Koeman’s men holding European aspirations of their own.

It is always an interest debate as to who might get the nod to play in these derby games and Liverpool’s selection won’t be helped by news this week that Adam Lallana will be out of action for at least a month.

The Belgian striker could find himself out of the reckoning when the team is announced this weekend after failing to hold down a first-team place throughout the campaign.

It has very much been a case of one step forwards and two back for the youngster this season, with many Liverpool supporters here in the Tavern frustrated at his performances.

The Estonian defender could miss out if Dejan Lovren is fit to return with the central defender another Reds performer who has experienced an indifferent campaign in the Premier League.

Several Liverpool fans are having a chat with the landlord here in the Tavern and they are of the belief that Lovren is a better option that Klavan if push came to shove.
