Arsene Wenger and his Arsenal side got right back on track in midweek with a convincing 3-0 win over West Ham United at the Emirates.

It was a much needed result for Wenger and his men, who have had a season to forget really on and off the pitch, but are still challenging for the top four spots in the Premier League.

This week represents another challenge for them though, coming up against a Crystal Palace side who had turned a bit of a corner until their defeat at Southampton in midweek.

The Gunners fans here in the Tavern have been gathering round the pool table this week though, and our landlord has been having a good old chin wag with them about team selection.

With this in mind, we have taken a look at TWO Arsenal players who could well be axed from the starting XI against Palace this weekend…

Danny Welbeck

Things have not gone brilliantly for Welbeck since he returned to the team from injury around a month ago, and he could well find himself out of the picture for the game with Palace.

With Olivier Giroud scoring last time out, Wenger could well opt for Giroud ahead of Welbeck, with the Frenchman also offering more defensively against a big Palace side.

Granit Xhaka

The big money summer signing seems to be a walking yellow card, and Gunners fans have been getting increasingly frustrated with the midfielder’s performances.

Xhaka might well find himself out of the side soon, and a game with Palace might be the time Arsene Wenger chooses to drop his risk taking central midfield man.
