As Lazar Markovic continues to impress for Partizan Belgrade, reports in Italy claim that Arsenal are the latest team to register an interest in the Serbian sensation.
Markovic has scored six goals in 13 appearances this season and the 17-year old forward has attracted interest from all over Europe, including the Premier League.
Chelsea and Liverpool scouts were in Belgrade last month but it seems Kenny Dalglish is put off by Markovic’s €15million price tag, with the Serbian himself claiming he wants to move to Chelsea.
Markovic said:
” I really hope I can go to Chelsea. It’s my dream. I had all of their pictures on my wall at home back to when they had Gianfranco Zola.
I want to go to the Premier League, it’s the best league and for me Chelsea are the best team.”
Andre Villas-Boas is keen to make Markovic the next piece in his Chelsea revolution but will now face competition from Arsene Wenger according to ItaSportpress.
Wenger must be becoming increasingly frustrated with the form of Andrey Arshavin and Theo Walcott, and the introduction of Markovic could provide his team with a youthful boost, as well as create more competition for places.
Markovic can play anywhere across the front and is known for his speed and dribbling skills. He also has a keen eye for goal and I’m sure it won’t be too long before he moves to one of Europe’s top teams.
