Do Not Sell My Personal Information

€50M Or Sneijder + Cash, So Just Cope With It.

There has been a lot of chatter this week about the future of Carlos Tevez, supposedly the City striker has agreed personal terms with Inter with a view to a Summer move.

Quite how this is possible since no talks have taken place between clubs seems strange to me, but I suppose that is the nature of transfer rumours.

Reports today in The News Of The World however claim that Manchester City are ready to strike a deal, but the newspaper reckon they will ask for a player in return, and not just any player, they claim they will go for Dutch star Wesley Sneijder.

Sneijder is one of the most technically gifted players currently playing in European football, his passing ability is excellent, he is reasonably quick and his play making ability is superb.  His qualities were obvious from a young age, he began his career with Ajax where he spent 5 seasons.  During that time he was linked to moves to some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including City’s arch rivals Manchester United.

It was however Real Madrid that the player joined in 2007 costing the Spanish club €27million.  His time in La Liga however was slightly frustrating he played well and achieved good things with the club, but he was rotated in and out of the side due to the size of the Real squad and after 2 years he moved to Serie A to play for Inter Milan.

He cost Inter €15million, and is now approaching the end of his second year, his form again has been very good and he has continued to demonstrate himself as one of the top midfielders in Europe.

At various points the Dutchman has been linked with Manchester United and recently it looked as if he would finally make the move to Old Trafford, that however now appears to be in doubt.  Any deal taking Tevez to Inter this Summer will be financially out of reach for Inter Milan, and therefore it is being suggested that a player might have to be included in any deal.

Roberto Mancini is known to be a keen admirer of the Dutch star, and The News Of The World today think that the Eastlands club are ready to play hard ball if they are to sell Tevez and request Sneijder in return.

Obviously the player himself has made it clear in the past that he would love to play at Old Trafford with Sir Alex Ferguson, but ultimately money talks and he could be tempted by the move to Eastlands should City manage to secure Champions League football for next season.

This one is definitely far from a certainty, but City are in a position where they don’t have to sell one of their prized assets, he has 3 years left on his contract and surely the Eastlands club will ask for at least £49million to sell their top scorer.  That sort of figure is clearly out of reach of the Milan team, so any deal could definitely involve a player going the other way and it now appears that the man City want is United target Sneijder, this one could get a bit tasty!
