It’s incredible to think that, pretty much a year ago, the Manchester United fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern wouldn’t really have too much of an idea as to who Marcus Rashford was.
Having burst onto the scene for both club and country, the 19-year-old forward proved a revelation under Louis van Gaal and emerged as one of England’s brightest hopes during the nightmare Euro 2016.
As wonderful a talent as he is, the forward has largely had to operate as second fiddle to the super Zlatan Ibrahimovic this term under Jose Mourinho and, rather surprisingly, has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford recently after reportedly growing frustrated at his lack of game time.
Such is the nature of his meteoric rise of late, the England international leaving so early on in his career is absolutely unthinkable for our punters, as well as those on social media.
With that in mind, here’s how Twitter reacted to Rashford’s exit rumours.
Nonsense article about #Rashford in the times.2nd season always bound to be tougher,He needs knuckle down & work hard #Mufc
