Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern could be prepared to see one of their longest-serving players leave the club this summer amid interest from a huge European side.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, Juventus are considering to make an offer to Jack Wilshere, with the midfielder’s future still uncertain at the Emirates Stadium. The England international, who will not be at the World Cup, has been handed a new deal by the Gunners and Unai Emery is thought to be keen to keep hold of him, however, nothing yet has been agreed.
Wilshere has struggled in the last few seasons with injuries and will hope to have put those behind him, although a number of the locals will still have some concern that he is still suspect to them but will not want to lose him as he has been influential over the years.
Landlord’s Verdict
The locals in the Tavern will be hoping the 26-year-old commits his future to the Gunners and extends his stay with the club. The midfielder has performed reasonably well for the team this season and could be rejuvenated under the guise of Emery, as he has only had Arsene Wenger as his manager.
Wilshere, despite his long list of lengthy injuries, has proven crucial to how Arsenal perform in their games and his new boss is desperate to keep him at the Emirates Stadium this year, which a number of the fans in the bar will hope is enough to convince him to sign the new deal and reject any advances from Juventus.
