The Leeds fans in the Transfer Tavern have been discussing the news that Paul Heckingbottom has been sacked, as they all keep their fingers crossed that Marcelo Bielsa is the next gaffer through the door at Elland Road. Leeds announced the news earlier today that Heckingbottom had been sacked after just 16 games in charge, and fans can read more on The Yorkshire Evening Post.

Andrea Radrizzani claimed when he came in that he wouldn’t be like his predecessor, Massimo Cellino, and that he’d give manager’s time in their role. However, that hasn’t happened so far. Thomas Christensen was the first manager appointed by Radrizzani, although he was sacked after a poor run of form in February and Heckingbottom was thrown a chance. His chance was short lived though and his lack of impact saw him axed today.
This means that in Radrizzani’s first year as Leeds majority shareholder he will have seen three managers through the door at Elland Road. Whilst most fans wouldn’t be happy with this stat, the fact that the third manager could be ex-Argentina gaffer Marcelo Bielsa is cause for excitement amongst the fans, who haven’t seen a top quality manager in the Leeds United dugout for some time now.
