Tottenham have hit a bit of a blip this season. The club started really well, beating Newcastle, Fulham and Manchester United but have now stalled. Defeats to Watford and Liverpool either side of the international break haven’t gone down well and now with Inter Milan in the Champions League tonight, the fans are desperate to see some fresh faces and Lamela is one of those.

The feisty Argentine attacker came off the bench against Liverpool on Saturday and showed a bit of personality and eventually scored the Lilyhwites consolation effort in the third minute of added time. The fans loved seeing the spark that the ex-Roma man brought to the pitch and it would be very surprising if Mauricio Pochettino fails to reward his efforts with a start in Italy tonight.
During Lamela’s time in Italy he had a lot of success against Inter Milan. The winger turned out against the Milan side five times in total, winning four of those and drawing the other. Individually, he’s yet to score against them but he did manage an assist in a 3-2 away win in the Coppa Italia semi-final at The San Siro back in April 2013. The supporters are desperate to see Lamela start the match and after a number of the squad failed to perform against Liverpool, it would be no surprise to see him included.
