The Chelsea fans are expecting him to leave at the end of the season…
Branislav Ivanovic has consistently been a key part of the Chelsea first team since he joined the club, but since the arrival of Antonio Conte – he has seen that change dramatically.
A formation switch has seen Victor Moses take his place on the right-hand side of the defence, and with his contract expiring at the end of the season – it would appear as though Ivanovic’s days at Stamford Bridge are numbered.
It isn’t all bad news for the veteran Serbian, though, as it would appear that one of Europe’s most successful sides are vying for his signature.
According to Calcio Mercato, Juventus could look to move for Ivanovic as they look to bulk out their defence – with the Turin-based side reportedly seeing the Serbian has a readily available option.
A number of other options are also reportedly being considered, but Ivanovic is likely deemed surplus to requirements at Chelsea – and so our landlord thinks that a deal could very well happen.
The Chelsea fans in the Football Transfer Tavern would be disappointed to see Ivanovic leave the club, but they also feel that his time could be up. He has found game time increasingly difficult to come by this season, and the performances of Victor Moses mean that that is unlikely to change.
They will, however, never forget his heroics during his spell with the club – with his performances en route to the 2012 Champions League final a particular highlight.
