Our resident Chelsea supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern are surprised after seeing reports from the Mirror today – with the publication suggesting AC Milan are to switch their attention from Spurs’ Harry Kane to Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.
The Serie A outfit are monitoring the situation of the 23-year-old Belgian striker ahead of a potential January move.
The landlord here in the Tavern thinks it would be ludicrous if Antonio Conte sanctioned a move for Batshuayi to leave the London outfit in January, and feels Batshuayi is severely under-appreciated at the Premier League side.
The £33 million signing has certainly found it hard to break into the first-team at the Blues since arriving from Marseille, and as our punters quip, it’s no surprise to see rumours surfacing linking the striker with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
The majority of Blues fans here in the Tavern think that the striker has a major part to play for Chelsea this season, and agree with the landlord on this occasion, saying it would be a travesty to let the Belgian depart the club!
