European giants to test Liverpool’s resolve with huge £50m bid

Sterling rejects a new deal Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are frustrated as the Daily Star reveals that Real Madrid have rekindled their interest in Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling.

Los Blancos were rumoured to be keen on signing the England international last summer but a move never materialised and Liverpool were able to cling onto their new found talisman.

But after many assumed this transfer rumour had been nipped in the bud, reports in Spain are suggesting that last season’s Champions League winners are preparing a whopping £50 million deal to sign Sterling.

If Carlo Ancelotti does submit the bid, it will put all the pressure on the Reds and it will be a very tough task for Brendan Rodgers to keep him at Anfield.

It has been a difficult period for Liverpool since Luis Suarez departed for Barcelona last summer and Sterling may potentially be looking for a route out.

That said, Rodgers is beginning to reinstill the spark which made the Reds so brilliant last season and there will be no way he will want to lose Sterling.

In a recent interview, Rodgers confirmed that they are closing in on a new mega deal for Sterling.

He said: “It is something the club are speaking with his representatives on and I would think that would be concluded very imminently.

“The player is very happy.

“It [the delay] is nothing to do with Raheem, he wants to be here so hopefully we get the solution on that very soon.”
