Speaking to Everton’s official website, midfielder Alex Iwobi has opened up over life on Merseyside and explained what has changed since his move from Arsenal in the summer – with some Toffees supporters heralding the winger as a result of his candid words.
Iwobi, who signed from the Gunners last August for a fee of £34 million, has had to be patient at his new club following a hamstring injury (Transfermarkt) picked up against his former club in December. However, with the Nigerian back having played against Watford, he has opened up over life at Everton and admits he is ‘itching‘ to return to full form.
Before picking up the knock, Iwobi had started 12 games for the Toffees this season – scoring one goal and racking up a 79.9% pass accuracy, as per WhoScored.com. Compared to fellow winger Bernard, the 23-year-old has managed more shots per game (1.1) over a similar total of minutes while the Brazilian only just beats Iwobi in terms of key passes (1.1) and dribbles completed (1.3).
As a result, Everton fans are happy to see him, hopefully, edging back to his best – find all of their best comments from Twitter down below.
He’s been getting played out of position ever since he got here, but puts in an absolute shift every time he’s on the pitch. Really really like him.
