According to a report from Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers on Twitter, AC Milan and Lyon are monitoring the progress of young Wigan Athletic defender Antonee Robinson – leaving Everton supporters full of regret over the club’s decision to sell him last summer.
Robinson, who has been ‘thriving‘ as part of a struggling Wigan team in the Championship (NBC Sports), has been picked out as a suitable replacement for Ricardo Rodriguez at the San Siro. He is said to be close to going out on loan to PSV Eindhoven (Football Italia). However, according to Myers, Lyon are also interested in lodging a bid for the 22-year-old. The United States favourite, who has started 29 games for the Latics this season, could be a potentially bright defender for the future – having amassed 2.0 interceptions and 2.3 tackles per game in the Championship, as per SofaScore. Everton’s current preferred left-back Lucas Digne, by comparison, has averaged 2 tackles and 1.2 interceptions in the top flight (WhoScored.com) – though the Frenchman is arguably playing in a tougher division.
