Everton eyeing up two Celtic stars amid £100m Lukaku & Barkley exit rumours

Everton fans have been glued to the TV and their Twitter feeds here in the Transfer Tavern for the past couple of days as rumours surrounding Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley’s futures swirl, and a report from the Express has captured their attention, with Moussa Dembele and Stuart Armstrong of Celtic both mooted as Toffees targets.

The Merseyside club have been rocked by news that Lukaku has no interest in signing a new contract at Goodison Park, which has been followed by claims from the Mirror that Chelsea are willing to splash £100m to re-sign the Belgian AND take Barkley to Stamford Bridge.

Given that Everton are some way off of the Champions League slots and will struggle once again to compete with the Premier League’s big six in 2017/18, they may need to prepare to lose the duo, and the Express claim Dembele and Armstrong are both being looked at.

The French striker is mooted as a major target, with the 20-year-old’s 32 goals in 45 games for the Bhoys the sort of record that suggests he could fill Lukaku’s boots should he move on.

Armstrong is also wanted, with the 24-year-old having enjoyed a stellar season under Brendan Rodgers at Celtic Park, in which he’s hit 10 Premiership goals, hinting his has the attacking verve to replace Barkley.

Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley will leave Everton this summer – agree?
