Everton: Fabrizio Romano deals Ivan Perisic transfer blow

Fabrizio Romano has dealt a Transfer Deadline Day blow to Everton hopes of signing Ivan Perisic as he says that there is ‘no chance’ that he will join them.

The Goodison Park faithful were previously linked with a move for the Inter Milan ace before the deadline but now any chances of him coming to the Merseyside club now seem all but over.

Perisic could have been a good signing for Everton

Perisic could have definitely been a good signing for Carlo Ancelotti’s team given his experience in the beautiful game.

The Croatia international has played at the highest level for both club and country, racking up a total of 581 senior games combined, scoring no fewer than 152 goals and making a further 123 assists in all competitions (Transfermarkt).

He has also played for the likes of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, winning the UEFA Champions League with the former last term.

The fact that he has played for some of the biggest clubs from around the world would have been useful to Carlo Ancelotti’s team both on the pitch and in the dressing room, as he could have given the players around him a big lift, with the Toffees chasing qualification for European competition for the 2021/22 season.

Nonetheless, it looks as if the 31-year-old winger will not be signing for the Blues before the deadline hits.
