“It’s time for Everton to get angry.” Those are the words of The Athletic journalist Greg O’Keeffe – but supporters have their doubts over whether the club will change their ways.
The demand for a response from the club comes after manager Marco Silva’s stance on the serious ankle injury that Portuguese midfielder picked up during the 1-1 draw against Tottenham, inflicted by Spurs’ winger Son Heung-min.
The South Korea international was initially sent off by referee Martin Atkinson, only for his dismissal to be rescinded by an independent panel.
O’Keeffe believes that the players should take their anger out on Southampton. Not only because Everton sit 17th in the Premier League table, but the Saints sit above them and have not won under Marco Silva when the team has gone behind in a league game.
