Everton fans have been reacting to Leighton Baines’ strike from distance during his side’s exit from the Carabao Cup to Leicester City on Wednesday.
The Toffees completed a dramatic second-half comeback as they came from two goals down at half-time to send the game to spot-kicks after a 2-2 draw at the end of the 90 minutes.
James Maddison and Jonny Evans scored two goals within three minutes in the first half, before Tom Davies found the net with 20 minutes to play and Baines scored the 91st-minute leveller from 25 yards out which left Kasper Schmeichel with no chance.
Baines, who recently celebrated his 35th birthday, has been at the club since 2007 and has scored 39 goals and provided 67 assists in 414 appearances for the Merseyside club.
Supporters loved seeing Baines score yet another wonder goal and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan described him as the “best left-back he has ever seen”

My favorite player. Saw him score the game winner @ Goodison in April 2016 against Bournemouth. Not sure how many more of these we’ll see, but I’ll cherish every single one.
