According to Italian sources, Everton could be eyeing up Thiago Silva, who will become a free agent this summer upon the expiry of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.
Italian outlet Sportal have reported that Goodison Park may well be Silva’s next destination as Carlo Ancelotti – who has worked with him in both Italy and France – would ‘gladly’ embrace a move to reunite with him despite his advanced age of 35.
Silva has been with PSG since 2012, after a move across Serie A from AC Milan. As he has aged, his market value has gradually dropped and he is now worth just £5.4million (via Transfermarkt) though, given his experience, potentially capturing him on a free could be considered a bargain.
After all, he boasts a much better pass completion rate than both Yerry Mina and Mason Holgate (95.5% compared to 83.7% and 79.9% per WhoScored), and makes more blocks per game on average than the two Toffees defenders.

Still, he is obviously in the autumn of his career considering his age, prompting a debate amongst fans online, where one supporter even said he’d end up as a ‘Brazilian Ashley Williams’ at Goodison while another used a GIF to agree with that statement…
