Everton: Fans criticise Lucas Digne despite positive performance against Arsenal

Everton fans have slammed defender Lucas Digne despite generating positive statistics during his side’s 0-0 draw against Arsenal at Goodison Park.

The newly-appointed Carlo Ancelotti was in attendance as Duncan Ferguson led the Toffees for the final time, before becoming part of the Italian’s backroom staff at Finch Farm.

The Blues were unable to break down the north London side, which ended in a dull stalemate between the two teams on Merseyside.

Digne, 26, won many of his battles and strung many passes together which could have had a different outcome for his team.

Out of ten duels, he won six (per SofaScore) of them. He made four tackles which was more than any other Everton player, and accumulated a pass success rate of 84%.

Despite this, supporters were not happy with Digne and believe that Leighton Baines should have started against the Gunners.
