While the club are embroiled in a frantic search for a new manager, Everton supporters were perhaps handed with further relief following their recent win over Chelsea after making progress in their plans for their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
The recent doom and gloom surrounding the club was lifted somewhat as Duncan Ferguson guided his side to victory over the Blues last weekend, while their latest development off the pitch has got some supporters excited about the team’s long-term future.
Stadium development director Colin Chong released a statement to confirm that the club’s planning application for their new ground will be submitted in the coming weeks, as fans welcomed the positive move forward.
There is clearly still frustration amongst the fanbase following the dismal recent run of results, though the vast majority of supporters who responded to the club’s announcement were left feeling upbeat about what is in store for Everton in the post-Goodison Park era.
Below is a selection of those replies as Everton moved a step closer to their new home:
Thanks lads, I needed this today.

Class. Love the way they’ve gone about this. Engaged, clear direction and focus on the clubs history. Now if only that would translate onto the pitch eh? Come on Big Dunc #EFC
