Dominic Calvert-Lewin has commented on the bond he has with fellow young Evertonians Tom Davies and Mason Holgate. The in-form striker has reflected on how the trio’s ‘unique situation’ is helping them grow, but fans couldn’t have a more different opinion.
Calvert-Lewin is appreciating the ‘special moments’ he has experienced with teammates Davies and Holgate after their careers have followed similar routes with the club (via Everton).
However, fans don’t agree that having Holgate and Calvert-Lewin in his support system has made Tom Davies a decent footballer. The Merseyside local lad has come under a lot of fire recently for his lacklustre performances in midfield, whereas the others are flourishing in their senior roles.
Calvert-Lewin is currently in the top ten highest scorers in the Premier League with 13 goals – more than the likes of Raheem Sterling and Anthony Martial (via BBC Sport). However, Davies is experiencing a very poor run of form. In his last two starts for Everton, he has lost nine duels and lost possession 15 times (via Sofascore).
Many fans are sick of the 21-year-old, with one lashing out and saying he ‘isn’t a footballer’. Other supporters have called Davies ‘awful’ and are begging for him to go out on loan.

Tom Davies needs a season out on loan, to really see if he can cut it/ step up. Right now, he’s not good enough to play for us…. and maybe never will be. Its a shame, as he was showing so much promise in his teens
