Everton fans have reacted in complete opposition to Joey Barton becoming the next manager of the club after he expressed his interest in the role.
The former Premier League midfielder is currently at the helm of League One side Fleetwood Town, and with Toffees’ boss Marco Silva under intense scrutiny at Goodison Park, several names have been listed in the queue to take the job.
Barton, who supported the Blues as a boy, made it clear that he would like to manage the club one day, as he told The Blackpool Gazette.

The 37-year-old is no stranger to controversy. In 2008, he was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment for common assault and affray during an incident in Liverpool. He has also been in several altercations with a few teammates of his, including Ousmane Dabo at Manchester City and Andy Halliday at Rangers.
Supporters immediately dismissed Barton’s comments and made their feelings clear on social media.
