Everton fans have applauded the performance of striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin after his side’s 2-1 win against Newcastle United on Saturday.
The result saw the newly-appointed Carlo Ancelotti and his side move into the top 10 for the first time this season as the Toffees took all three points at Goodison Park.
The 22-year-old scored both goals on either side of half-time to seal the victory, and his team greatly benefitted from his ruthless finishing.

Great play from DCL that is. Proving all the doubters wrong, including myself!!

I have been critical of DCL in the past but happy to eat my words. Looks twice the player when we go more direct and he has a bit of support up top. Delighted for him.

So maybe this is why we didn’t replace lukaku. Coz we already had the replacement. Just needed to play to his strengths

A month ago he’d have missed that. In fact, he nearly did!

For ages? He’s only 22 and shouldn’t have been under so much scrutiny/pressure to begin with. Glad he’s been given time to grow into a quality striker.

Every manager that had Dom at youth level and England youth level told us how good he could be and it’s showing now we’re playing to his strengths
