Everton: Fans laud Josh King transfer enquiry

Many Everton fans have been left lauding a reported Transfer Deadline Day enquiry from their club for AFC Bournemouth striker Josh King.

As per a tweet from the BBC journalist Ian Dennis, the Goodison Park faithful have enquired about the availability of the Norway international before the deadline hits, but no offer has been made, as of yet, to the Cherries.

The Merseyside club are in desperate need of cover for Dominic Calvert-Lewin in case the England international finds himself injured, in need of a rest or out of form for a long period of time.

King has plenty of experience playing in the Premier League, with no fewer than 48 goals and a further 15 assists in 161 games in total over five consecutive terms in the English top-flight (Transfermarkt).

Thus, the 29-year-old, currently valued at £9.9m by Transfermarkt, would likely not need much time to adapt to the division and as such, he should be ready to slot straight into Carlo Ancelotti’s team if and when he’s needed.

“I wanted him Jan 1st, so if we have him by midnight I don’t really care – he is needed. I would love a pacey winger too but let’s see. King might give cover for both.”
