Everton: Fans laud link to Allan as deal ‘close’ with Napoli

Plenty of Everton fans have been lauding the latest transfer link to Allan as Il Matino (via The Gwladys Street) reported that the Merseyside club have raised their offer to €38 million, which is the equivalent of around £34.6 million.

As per the outlet, the deal is now ‘close’ to being completed as the SSC Napoli ace has apparently already had personal terms agreed for a while and will earn €4.7 million a year or €90,000 per week, which equates to roughly £82,000 a week, for three years.

Indeed, Allan would be quite the coup for Carlo Ancelotti’s team given that the central midfield player has averaged more tackles and key passes per Serie A game so far in comparison to Fabian Delph, Tom Davies and Andre Gomes in the 2019/20 Premier League season, according to Whoscored.

Based off of these stats the 29-year old would arguably slot straight into the side, as one member of the Goodison Park faithful labelled him as a ‘terrier’ based off of his superior tackling ability.

Another EFC supporter claimed that he would be ‘filling the Gueye/Barry void’ if he were to join, as both Idrissa Gueye and Gareth Barry played a high number of games in the holding midfield role for the Toffees.

Made up if we get this sorted. He’s a terrier and will do what it takes to win the ball back, skilful and got an eye for a pass. Age is irrelevant. Gareth Barry was old but has been one of the better midfielders at this club in recent times. He’s just helped WBA get promoted.
