Plenty of Everton fans have been lauding a transfer link to Jasper Cillessen as Ryan Taylor has confirmed on his Twitter page that he is a target for the Merseyside club in the summer window.
According to the tweet from the Daily Express journalist, Fikayo Tomori is also set to join Carlo Ancelotti’s team on loan from Frank Lampard’s Chelsea for the 2020/21 term, but it was the transfer link to Cillessen that really caught the eye of some members of the Goodsison Park faithful.

Indeed, the Dutch international has had a fine career so far playing for the likes of European heavyweights Ajax and FC Barcelona, as he won two La Liga trophies with the latter in addition to several other domestic titles, as per Transfermarkt.
Cillessen has also been a regular for his country, racking up no fewer than 54 appearances for the Netherlands since his debut in 2013 under former Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal (via the website).
The 31-year old has a lot of pedigree in the beautiful game, and so may be a good addition to the Toffees squad to compete with Jordan Pickford for the number one spot in between the sticks.

Cillesen is the news I’d be more interested in. Watched him fill in for Ter Stegen at Barcelona and he was always solid. If that spurred Pickford to get his act together, or replaced him, that would be another big step forward.
