Everton: Fans look back at Romelu Lukaku’s goal against Leicester City

Everton fans have been looking back at their 2-0 win against Leicester City back in 2016 on Boxing Day.

The game turned out to be a Christmas cracker for the Toffees as goals from Kevin Mirallas and a late goal from Romelu Lukaku secured all three points for the travelling Blues.

Everton woes on the road echo to their recent fortunes, the victory was their first in the Premier League since beating Sunderland two months prior.

The result meant that the reigning champions Leicester moved closer to the relegation zone after their defeat, mainly due to the absence of N’Golo Kante who moved to Chelsea the summer before.

Supporters enjoyed looking back at the win and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that Lukaku was “unstoppable” on his day, while another said described the affair as a “class day” against the 2015/16 Premier League winners.

With Lukaku scoring 18 Premier League goals that season, they were better days in front of goal, given that no player has scored more than 3 times this season for the club.

Here you will find some of the memories of the day from Everton fans:
