Our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to see their side progress under Ronald Koeman with things certainly going in the right direction right now.

The Toffees here by the bar are yearning for European football to be back at the club and there’s every chance they are going to get that at the moment.

The Blues are in the driving seat in terms of the race for the Europa League spots and should they reach the competition for next year the onus will then be on improving the squad so it’s ready.

And, whilst new players will be signed for sure, looking through the club’s youth ranks might not be the worst idea in the world either.

The Blues have a very enviable set of good young players at the moment and, whilst the likes of Tom Davies have established themselves, our landlord reckons these two youngsters need to be watched keenly too…

Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Everton and their fans love when a young striker comes through and Calvert-Lewin could be the latest.

Admittedly, they didn’t actually sign the forward up as a kid but brought him in from Sheffield United after seeing what he could do lower down the leagues. Nevertheless, he’s likely to be treated as one of Everton’s own – especially if he starts delivering on his huge potential soon.

Kieran Dowell

Whilst Calvert-Lewin was signed, then, the club do also possess top home-grown players and one of them is certainly Kieran Dowell.

Born in Ormskirk, he’s very familiar to the surrounding Merseyside area and knows exactly what it means to represent the blue side of Stanley Park having been with the club from the junior levels. He’ll have taken heart from Tom Davies’ progression and will be keen to establish himself alongside in midfield.
