Everton fans have been absolutely delighted by Andre Gomes’ compelling opening to life at the club, and a recent revelation from Marco Silva has given them reason to believe that a highly desirable permanent deal could be on the cards.
Gomes was highly impressive again on Saturday as the Toffees beat Cardiff City 1-0 at Goodison Park to continue their excellent form.
The 25-year-old signed with the Merseyside club on a loan deal from Barcelona in the summer and, since recovering from a troublesome injury problem, he has quickly stamped his authority down in the team and proven to be just the player Silva needs to build for the future.
Gomes made 56 passes on Saturday, while he also won five aerial duels against a Neil Warnock side that proved difficult to break down on the day.
And just as the supporters had finished salivating over his performance, Silva revealed that he is happy with Gomes’ development and hinted that he would like to complete a permanent deal in the future (via Daily Mirror).
Naturally, the Toffees faithful have reacted with utmost enthusiasm and urged Silva to complete a deal for the classy ball-playing midfielder.
Judging by the reaction to the latest report it’s fair to say that Gomes has already established himself as a firm fan-favourite.
