Everton fans had goalkeeper Jordan Pickford mainly to thank for their 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at Goodison Park on Sunday. A 60th minute penalty save by the England number one sparked the Toffees into life after being on the back-foot most of the match against the Eagles.
With the encounter locked at 0-0 Everton defender Seamus Coleman brought down Wilfried Zaha in the box with Luka Milivojevic stepping up to take the responsibility of the penalty-kick. But the 24-year-old Pickford showed just why he is regarded as one of the best stoppers in the land, saving Milivojevic’s strike with his legs, while diving to his left.
The save, combined with key substitutions by manager Marco Silva, saw the Merseyside club crawl back into the contest before Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun found the back of the net in the space of two minutes towards the end of regular time.
Everton fans have since then taken to Twitter to express their delight in Pickford for changing the tide against Roy Hodgson’s charges.
Here are some of their reactions:

Fantastic in-game management by Marco Silva to turn the game in Everton’s favour but credit also due to Michael Keane & Jordan Pickford. Both immense #EFC
