Everton: Fans react as Richarlison comments on his future

Many Everton fans have been reacting to some remarks made by Richarlison with regards to his future at the Merseyside club.

Speaking live to CBF TV on Youtube (via UOL), the Brazil international said:

“I spoke to Ancelotti, said that I have a dream of playing the Champions League. He asked me to stay another year, to insure, that we would arrive. This year, reinforcements arrived and we started the Premier League with everything. Let’s see what happens.”

Indeed, Richarlison has not exactly ruled out a future away from Goodison Park, and Carlo Ancelotti’s team may not be able to offer him the UEFA Champions League football that he so dreams of.

The 23-year old has made a good start to the 2020/21 term under the Italian boss, scoring four goals and making a further two assists in five games in all competitions, according to Transfermarkt.

Richarlison has established himself as a crucial player for the Toffees, but he may need to move on from the Blues if they cannot qualify for the Champions League.

If we play well and get in to Europe he might stay. He needs to see progress. Can’t blame him really it’s a short career and with his talent he can go all the way.

He is so good, he deserves champions league football. If we can’t give him it, then sell him and we move on. You don’t get success having players in your team who settle for mid table.

I won’t begrudge him if we can’t give him what he wants, a player of that ability needs to be playing top level.
