It was a great Saturday for Everton last weekend, overcoming West Ham United with a 2-0 win and easing the pressure on Marco Silva’s shoulders heading into the Toffees’ upcoming trip to Brighton and Hove Albion.
Since last week’s victory, which ended a four-game losing streak, Silva has been full of praise for his side after the way they professionally handled business.
Most recently, the Portuguese boss spoke to Everton’s official club website about the ‘togetherness’ his side showed.
“I was happy [with the West Ham game], not just because we won, but the way we won,” explained Silva.
“We were fast and had quality in offensive movements, playing with freedom but balance as well.
“We showed real togetherness.”
But despite getting back to winning ways against the Hammers, some fans debated in response to the comments that there is still a long way to go – and some are still not convinced he’s the right man to stay at the helm.

Don’t have to be a tactical genius to recognise we play too slow and predictable against the lower teams who either wait for a mistake or a corner to punish us. We concede and game over. If we’re playing quicker and changed the zonal marking we’ll win more than we lose.
