Everton: Fans react to Theo Walcott injury news

Premier League - Everton v Manchester City

Many Everton fans have been reacting on Twitter to the injury update provided by the club regarding Theo Walcott.

Walcott was forced off early on during the home tie with Manchester City on Saturday having blocked Raheem Sterling’s cross. He was treated by the club’s medical staff on the pitch and was suspected to have concussion, so he was taken to hospital.

The club have said that Walcott was “discharged from hospital on Saturday evening shortly after the completion of the game against Manchester City. Since his discharge, the club’s medical staff have continued to follow the standard concussion protocols with the forward.” (via evertonfc.com)

The 30-year-old continues to be monitored and is on track in his recovery ahead of a potential return to full training later this week as the Toffees travel to Burnley on Saturday.

It was unfortunate that Walcott, making his first start of the season, suffered the injury and Everton will hope he fully recovers as soon as possible, given their indifferent start to the campaign.

As you can imagine, many Everton fans commented on the announcement. Here are some of the responses…
