Many Everton fans have been reacting to a transfer update on Thiago Silva as Duncan Castles (via The Gwladys Street) has claimed that the Merseyside club have offered the Paris Saint Germain man a deal of two years worth £83,000 per week.

However, as per the journalist, the extension of a second year can only be triggered should the central defender make up to 25 appearances within his first season at Goodison Park.
Comparing the 35-year old’s stats to Mason Holgate, Michael Keane and Yerry Mina in their respective domestic leagues so far in the 2019/20 season, the Brazilian international has averaged more blocks and less fouls per game, whilst he is also dribbled past the least, according to Whoscored.
Not only has Silva demonstrated his defensive qualities on the pitch, as he also averages more passes at the highest success rate, as per the website.
His age and lack of experience in English football may be a question, but Silva may be a steal on a free transfer and relatively low wages if he can still demonstrate his quality and leadership for the Toffees.

These EFC supporters reacted to the update on Twitter:
Figure I had in mind on last tweet. In Carlo I trust. £8m over 2 years including the override is brilliant. NSNO. Everton = El Selecao.

That can't be right?? That's nothing for such a big name these days?

Forget whatever the cost is, we need someone like him and players like him don’t come around, available and willing to come to a team ‘below top tier’ very often, most will play top tier then return to a boybood/home country V club or head to MLS/A League, this is a great chance!

No chance he accepts that wage

He’s on a free so they will give him a decent signing on fee to equal out the drop in wages
