Everton fans were in fine spirits ahead of Carlo Ancelotti’s debut as Toffees manager, as the mood on Christmas Day was encapsulated by fans’ disregard for their seasonal gifts, with the arrival of the Italian the only thing on their minds.
The club’s official Twitter account asked supporters whether they had received any Everton presents in their Christmas stockings – to which some fans could only reveal their excitement following the appointment of Ancelotti last weekend.
Supporters have clearly already taken to their new man by showing their appreciation to the club for bringing the former Real Madrid manager to Goodison Park.
Some even felt they did not need Christmas gifts, such was their delight at having as illustrious a coach as Ancelotti at the club – with excitement prior to their Boxing Day win against Burnley reaching fever pitch.
