Simeone, 49, has been in charge of Atletico Madrid since 2011 and his time with the La Liga giants looks to be coming to an end.

He has managed to win the La Liga title and two Europa League crowns during his time at the club. However, Los Colchoneros sit in sixth place in the table and has only picked up six wins out of their first 15 Spanish league games this season.

The former River Plate head coach has managed 449 games for the red side of Madrid and has averaged a points per game tally of 2.04, as per TransferMarkt.

MARCA (via Daily Mirror) has revealed that the team’s current form means that a ‘divorce is on the horizon’, with Toffees’ officials monitoring the situation closely.

Supporters did not believe the rumours with the Argentinian manager were true and made their feelings clear on social media.
