Many Everton fans were taken on a trip down memory lane by one of their former player’s sons – as Andrei Kanchelskis Jr shared a clip of his father in his Everton heyday.

Posting a clip of a Toffees performance from 1995 on Twitter, Kanchelskis’ son – an Everton fan himself – looked back on an Everton side that saw off Leeds United 2-0 at Goodison Park with 10 men, thanks to the fancy footwork from his dad:

Fans certainly felt that labelling Kanchelskis Sr as ‘alright’ was doing him a huge disservice, and replied by showing how revered the former Manchester United winger still is on the blue half of Merseyside.
Supporters made clear how highly they rate the Russian, with some suggesting Everton haven’t had a better player since, while plenty still regret the moment he left the club back in 1997.
