Loads of Everton fans fumed at defender Djibril Sidibe for his performance during his side’s 3-2 defeat against Arsenal on Sunday.
The Toffees extended their unwanted record having never won at the Emirates Stadium. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison both got their names on the score sheet and were wary threats to the Gunners’ backline. However, a brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and a goal from youngster Eddie Nketiah ensured that the Blues left north London empty-handed.
Sidibe, 27, was largely ineffective down the right-hand side and found himself overrun by Bukayo Saka and Aubameyang, from a defensive point of view. He failed to play any successful crosses, he did not make any clearances and failed to dribble past any Arsenal defender as his attacking threat was thwarted, as per SofaScore.
This resulted in anger from the Gwladys Street faith, who made their feelings clear towards the Frenchman on social media. One fan said that was not good enough, another said that he was not the answer and should be shipped back to Monaco. Finally, one more fan went as far as to say that his outing was “disgraceful”.
