Some Everton fans have been criticising right-back Djibril Sidibe for his role in the Toffees’ 4-0 hammering to Chelsea.
Conceding four goals and 17 shots in total, Everton’s defence as a whole was poor. However, supporters have taken issue with Sidibe’s performance in particular, despite him recording some very decent defensive numbers.
According to WhoScored, the 27-year-old actually made the most successful tackles on the pitch with five. He also made two interceptions, the highest number recorded in the game.
Yet it appears that was not enough to convince some Everton fans, who have taken to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction with the player. One supporter even went as far as to say that Sidibe is the “worst”.
And things do not get any easier for the Frenchman and his side with a Merseyside derby next up for them in the Premier League.
