Everton’s 2-1 loss at Manchester City doesn’t look too negative from the scoreline, but their fans will have expected more from the performance considering the promise that new manager Carlo Ancelotti has brought to the club. Indeed, one player who fans were really disappointed with was ex-Manchester City man Fabian Delph.

He was rated just 6.45/10 by WhoScored for his showing against his old club and Sofa Score recorded that he was dispossessed nine times during the game. Furthermore, the Liverpool Echo even rated him 5/10 and said he had a “lack of positional awareness at times”, so it’s clear it wasn’t the 30-year-old’s best day at the office.
With that in mind, loads of Everton fans took to Twitter during and after the game to express their disappointment with the team, but many also chose to focus their frustrations on Delph, with some even suggesting that the two-time Premier League champion isn’t good enough to be playing for the club despite only recently joining this summer (BBC).
