Plenty of Everton fans are split on a transfer link to FC Barcelona ace Rafinha as Spanish outlet Sport have reported that the Merseyside club as well as Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing him in the summer transfer window.
According to the outlet, the two clubs from the Premier League have been closely monitoring the progress of the Brazilian international for a long time and both could well make an offer.
Would Rafinha start for Everton?
Yes
No
However, the Catalan giants are looking for a fee of 16 million euros, which is the equivalent of around £14.4 million, for his services, as there is already a team in the Chinese Super League willing to pay that sum.
Indeed, Rafinha could well bring a winning mentality to Carlo Ancelotti’s side having won the UEFA Champions League and several other titles with Barca, and at 27 years of age, should arguably be hitting his prime years.
However, his goal and assist contribution is perhaps a little low for an attacking midfield player who also played further forward on the wing in the 2019/20 season, but only managed just four goals and a mere two assists in 33 games in all competitions both for Barcelona and while he was on loan at Celta Vigo, as per Transfermarkt.
Rafinha has also never played his football in England before and so may struggle to adapt to the top flight.
These members of the Goodison Park faithful were split by his potential signing on Twitter:
