Everton fans on Twitter were absolutely livid yesterday. After Ademole Lookman and Bernard has given them an early 2-0 lead, the supporters would have been hoping to go on and emulate Tottenham’s result with a massive scoreline to give themselves a needed confidence booster. However, they let one slip soon after and had to fight for a 2-1 win.

The goals itself was a shocking one to concede. The Imps had a free-kick which should have been cleared, yet it was allowed to drop into the Everton box and was eventually poked home by Michael Bostwick, who will never forget his big moment at Goodison Park. However, for the Toffees, it was a moment to forget and will be something they’ll be desperate to cut out in future matches.
It was a good thing that Lookman and Bernard netted so early as if Lincoln had scored to equalise or to take the lead it could have been a much different game. The Imps are no stranger to an upset, as it was them who made it to the quarter-finals of the 2016/17 FA Cup by beating Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor, despite being a Conference side at the time.

The Toffees will be far from pleased with their efforts against Lincoln, and whilst they may be in the 4th round, they’ll have to be much better to make it to the 5th round if they’re drawn against a tougher opponent.
