Goals from Pascal Gross, Neal Maupay and a last-minute own goal by Lucas Digne condemned the Toffees to a loss against the south coast side.
An own goal from the Seagulls’ Adam Webster and Dominic Calvert-Lewin made up the goal tally for the visitors. However, their goal tally wasn’t enough to get any points from the game at the Amex Stadium.
The 22-year-old Brazilian was one of Everton’s better players on the day with a match rating of 6.90 by WhoScored. He also won four aerial duels and had two attempts on goal, proving that he was causing the Brighton backline some serious problems.
