Everton: Fans unhappy with Allan’s call-up for Brazil

A number of Everton fans have not taken kindly to the news that Allan has been called up to the Brazil national team for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

As per Sky Sports, the 29-year old will replace Liverpool’s Fabinho, who has had to withdraw from the squad because of injury.

Indeed, Allan has been nothing short of great so far in the Premier League this season, as the midfielder has won a rather impressive 6.2 of his duels per match in England’s top flight, in addition to averaging four tackles, 1.2 interception and 1.2 clearances per game (Sofascore).

Former Toffees goalkeeper Nigel Martyn described Allan as a ‘selfless’ player, in other words doing the dirty work on the pitch to give more freedom to the attacking players.

Perhaps it is not a surprise then that many of the Goodison Park faithful are unhappy that he is going away on international duty, as he may pick up an injury in action for Brazil.
