Everton: Fans urge club to sign Baptiste Santamaria and Ibrahim Sangare

Loads of Everton fans have urged the Merseyside club to sign Baptiste Santamaria and Ibrahim Sangare as France Football reported that Villarreal have abandoned their attempts to sign the former after having a €10 million bid, which is the equivalent of around £9 million, rejected for him.

As per the outlet, SCO Angers are seeking an offer of €15 million for Santamaria, which equates to roughly £13.5 million.

A report from the Daily Express back in April suggested that the Toffees would be interested in signing him in the summer window alongside Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City, as a possible player to fill the void left by N’Golo Kante.

The Blues were also linked to Toulouse ace Sangare by the Express back in May along with Newcastle United, as they seek to fill a void of their own left by Idrissa Gana Gueye.

Indeed, both players could improve Carlo Ancelotti’s midfield, as several members of the Goodison Park faithful urged EFC to sign them both on Twitter.

One supporter even claimed that ‘I’d have these 2 over Allan’, as the SSC Napoli man has been reportedly subject to a bid from Everton.

Comparing each of their stats in their respective domestic leagues in the 2019/20 season, both Santamaria and Sangare averaged more tackles, interceptions, clearances, blocks, shots, dribbles, passes and long balls per game, according to Whoscored.

Based off of these stats, perhaps both players would be a better and maybe cheaper option than the 29-year old Brazilian.

Santamaria is exactly what we need in this midfield, and Sangare has some real talent. He’s a little raw, but he’s been playing in the first team for a few years, so I’m confident he could come in and compete for a starting spot right away.
