Many Everton fans have slammed Kaveh Solhekol after a question he asked to Dominic Calvert-Lewin while on England international duty.
As shared by Toffee TV, the Sky Sports journalist interviewed the Toffees striker ahead of the Three Lions' last 16 game against Germany at Wembley on Tuesday evening.
Speaking to Calvert-Lewin, Solhekol said: 'You're not going to start for England unless Harry Kane is unavailable', and asked him 'how difficult is that?'
Although Kane is the captain and arguably the talisman of the England team, it was still a rather insulting question to ask, as Calvert-Lewin will have ambitions to start in front of the Tottenham marksman.
Kane has not exactly lit up Euro 2020 so far, with no goals in the group stages of the tournament, and he has been criticised by some in the media for his displays (The Guardian).
Calvert-Lewin should be right to feel aggrieved by Solhekol's suggestion and subsequent question.
