Everton have been given a double boost ahead of their game at home to Southampton in the Premier League on Monday night.
Speaking in his pre-game press conference ahead of the match, Carlo Ancelotti has said that both Allan and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are training regularly and are available to start against Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men.
Boost for Everton if Allan and Dominic Calvert-Lewin start
If both Allan and Calvert-Lewin are able to start the fixture against the Saints, then it would no doubt be a big boost for the Goodison Park faithful.
The former has missed the last 15 games in total over all competitions with a muscle injury, and in that period the Merseyside club have lost four matches in the league and gone out of the Carabao Cup (Transfermarkt).
Is Allan the best signing Everton have made this season?
Allan has been vital to the Toffees’ success in the top flight so far in the 2020/21 term, winning no fewer than 6.7 of his duels per appearance while also averaging 3.4 tackles, 1.7 successful dribbles and 1.1 interceptions a game (Sofascore).
Calvert-Lewin’s return will also be a boost given his goal threat, in a season where he has already scored no fewer than 18 times and supplied a further four assists in just 26 matches in total over all competitions (Transfermarkt).
Nonetheless, it will be a very welcome boost if both players are able to start the game on Monday night.
