Lots of Everton fans have been left hailing an update on Marcel Brands as Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that he will sign a new deal at Goodison Park.
The Toffees boss said: “I think that no doubt, he is going to stay and sign a new contract”.
The Dutchman has helped the Merseyside club get to another level in the 2020/21 term as the Director of Football (DoF) helped bring in the likes of Abdoulaye Doucoure, Allan, Ben Godfrey and James Rodriguez into the Merseyside club in the summer transfer window.
Should Brands sign a new deal at Everton?
The Toffees are now challenging for European qualification for next season, and are currently a mere five points off of automatic qualification for the UEFA Champions League with as many as two games in hand on some of their Premier League rivals (BBC Sport).
They are also just three points off of Liverpool with two games in hand, with a real chance of finishing above their local rivals in this campaign, aided by the help of the new summer additions.
Everton fan reaction to Ancelotti claim on Brands
These Toffees supporters hailed the claim from Ancelotti on Brands on Twitter, with a couple of Blues describing his potential new deal as ‘good news’:
“That’s good news”
“Carlo best get his act together then and quick!”
